Reader: Hello, Mr. Oda! There’s one thing that’s been bothering me. Why does Ace have freckles? My mother calls him that “freckle-face guy” all the time. Isn’t that terrible?

Oda: Speaking of freckles, it’s known among my assistants that I always forget to draw the freckles (about 92% of the time).

Reader: I’ve turned 28 and every single day, I think about One Piece. There’s this question I want to ask. In a One Piece art book, there was this technique called Face Fleurs where Robin’s face appears on the back of Chopper’s head. What situation is that supposed to be used in? I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw it.

Oda: I see. Well, for the people who don’t know, there was a section in an art book that shows parts of my notes and this was one of the things shown. To tell you the truth, there was a scene during the Skypiea arc where Robin had to transport her unconscious crewmates. At that time, I thought that sprouting faces, arms and legs on her crewmates might make transporting them really easy. But it was so creepy that I decided not to do it. But if you really like it, i might do it some other time.

I’ll try to be brief - One Piece Podcast, the web radio-show about Japan’s number 1 manga, that started back in 2009, is having [A KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN] in order to fund their trip to Japan this August for making a documentary on One Piece, visit memorable places related to it and possibly have interviews with the biggest names who are involved with creating One Piece, including Eiichiro Oda himself!

OP Podcast’s host and founder, Zach Logan will  be accompanied by Greg, over-decade long One Piece fan from America who lives in Japan and who had been officially recognised as a leader of fan movement for the series, starred in numerous TV-shows about One Piece and is currently writing his own monthly column in Shounen Jump! I’ve known both Greg and Zach personally for years and these 2 fine gents of highest knowledge and dedication for One Piece are more than just professional and clearly the best candidatures out there for hosting such event.

The Kickstarter is due 16 days and is currently about 2 thousand dollars away from it’s goal of $7,000.

Oda: I guess it’s hard to see, but he’s a Paramythia type. The Tremor-Tremor Fruit is considered to be one of the most powerful fruits among the Paramythia types. Because he’s an “Earthquake Human,” you might think he would be a Logia type, but in that case, Whitebeard himself would have to be an earthquake. Whitebeard can cause earthquakes. In other words, he can cause tremors or shaking that start these earthquakes. In short, he’s a Paramythia type that’s as powerful as Logia types.

Reader: I have a question. Does a banana fit inside Whitebeard’s moustache? Is that thing like a “banana pouch”?

Oda: Yup. If you open the zipper on the back, you’ll find some bananas. You can line them up, three on the right side and three on the left, bringing it up to a total of six bananas. “Come on, men! Reader: When I was talking to my friends about One Piece, there’s one thing I noticed. I realized that you never call Luffy and his crew the “Straw Hat Pirates” and never the “Luffy Pirates.” You always call them the “Straw Hats” every single time. Is this a policy of yours?

Oda: Oh! Here we go again. A great guy that sees through it all. You’re right. You’re exactly right. What the anime, games, or readers call them is really none of my concern. They can call them whatever’s easiest for them. But for me, I’ve decided to always call them the “Straw Hats.” I’ve never called them anything else. Well done.
